Principal's Corner

It has been quite a tumultuous week here in Eagle Point.  We have a number of families that have experienced significant loss during the fires that are still burning in our school district and throughout the Rogue Valley.   Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone that has been impacted.

I have watched our community respond to this tragedy and I am overwhelmed with gratitude.  Our first responders have been amazing.  As many of us have been evacuated from our homes, our first responders are racing full speed into the areas that are most dangerous.  Thank you for risking your lives to save our community.

Many of you have asked about what this means for our schools and our plan is to begin school with students on Monday September 21st.  This will be the first day of our Comprehensive Distance Learning program and we are working hard to make this a successful first day.  However; we need your help!  You will be receiving a call from one of our staff members to discuss whatever needs you have regarding technology and other items.  Please ask questions and let us help you get your student ready for success on September 21st.  Additionally, you should be receiving a call from your child's DEN teacher to set up or host a personal orientation conference with the student and the parents.  This orientation conference will answer any specific questions you have regarding the upcoming school year.

I certainly appreciate your partnership during these unprecedented times.  Our teachers are working hard and your patience and flexibility is most appreciated.   There are a lot of unanswered questions right now, but we will get them answered as we work together to make this year a success!

Top FOUR things to do before Monday September 21st:

1. Find your iPad and charger and make sure it is charged and ready to go.  (if necessary, call 541-830-6030)
2.  Log-in to Rapid Identity on your iPad to make sure you know your password.  If you have forgotten your password, you should be able to reset through Rapid Identity.
3. Log-in to your student email address and see if you have any emails.  If you are unable to log-in to your email account, please call 541-830-6030.
4. Please be ready join your DEN teacher on Monday September 21st at 9:00 a.m.  Your teacher will be contacting you before Friday September 19th to help you with all the details.

Take care, and stay safe!
